Andy Hafer
Andy Hafer has spent his career in technology. He currently serves as CEO & President of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (TBTF). TBTF is a professional association of technology and business leaders dedicated to growing and promoting Tampa Bay's technology “eco-system.” During his tenure at TBTF, he's helped the organization grow to over 400 member companies representing 45,000 individuals across the Tampa Bay region.
Additionally, Hafer founded and currently serves as CEO of Dynamic Communities, Inc. Dynamic Communities hosts and manages software focused user groups throughout the globe, including AXUG - centered around users of Microsoft’s Dynamics AX ERP product.
Andy Hafer was on the Executive Team of PRIDE Enterprises as Chief Information Officer. PRIDE Enterprises is a mid-sized manufacturing company with 40 plants all located in the State of Florida. He had overall responsibility for Information Technology, and completed several strategic re-engineering, manufacturing quality improvement, and IT projects during his two years there.
Prior to joining PRIDE, Hafer spent 3 years as Practice Director for Tribridge, Inc. Tribridge, a professional services firm, specializes in Business and Technology consulting. Andy was responsible for the eCommerce Division and, later become responsible for consulting services in the Central Florida region. Before joining Tribridge, he spent six years as CIO for Yara, an $800 million manufacturer and wholesale distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals. Specific responsibilities included information technology activities, change management, business process improvement and e-commerce initiatives. Prior to Yara, Andy was a senior consultant with a “Big Six” consulting firm. His projects included ERP, manufacturing, healthcare, eBusiness, HRIS, and other system implementations, business process improvement, productivity studies and custom system development. He was also with Proctor and Gamble, where he managed process control engineering projects; and IBM’s Information Network, where he served in a technical customer service role in the global call center.
Andy has served in many professional, civic, and social capacities. He founded the Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s CIO Special Interest Group. He began the now vibrant Microsoft Dynamics AX User’s Group. He currently serves on the University of South Florida Computer Science and Engineering Advisory Board. He was a founding member of the CIO Council of Greater Tampa Bay, also serving as Chairman of the SAP Special Interest Group. He’s been a member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and past President of the Florida Chapter of Americas’ SAP User’s Group (ASUG). He’s served on the University of South Florida Athletics Board of Directors since 1993. He also serves on the corporate Board of Directors for Lee Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Inc, Funeral Services, Inc, and Dynamic Communities, Inc.
Hafer received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla. In 1996, Andy was distinguished as University of South Florida Alumnus of the Year. In 2004, Andy received the most esteemed CEO’s Leadership Award from PRIDE Enterprises. Andy was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania but raised a Floridian since age 5. He enjoys boating, fishing, and most outdoors activities. He lives in Tampa with his wife Eileen and children Thomas, Matthew, and Alexis.
